This Simple Easter Wreath was quick, easy, and inexpensive. All supplies except the yellow ribbon are from the Dollar Tree. Would you believe the yellow ribbon is actually some I bought for our wedding album? We got married in 2003! It’s the last of it but it has been in my stash for a LONG TIME! Ok, back to 2021, I love lilies and I love the color yellow and I think this incorporates both in such a simple and elegant way.
Last Easter marked my first not surrounded by family and friends. Not just because of the pandemic but also because we moved from Montana to Wisconsin. I am sure this also rings true for so many because of the pandemic as well. We are inching real close to that second Easter away and I miss my family, friends, and my home state in a way I never knew possible.
I mostly create to bring cheer to my days and this one did just that. It lifted my spirits and when I look at it I am reminded of my sisters who also love yellow, my niece who loves lilies, April birthdays, family gatherings, longer warmer days, and my mom who always had lilies out at Easter and who made Easter bouquets with lilies to gift.
This little wreath is a spot of sunshine in my day.

Supplies Needed to Make the Easter Wreath
- Small Wreath Form I picked up at the Dollar Tree
- Decorative Mesh from the Dollar Tree
- Ribbon I had on hand
- Artificial flowers from the Dollar Tree
- Crepe paper from the Dollar Tree
- Glue gun
- Scissors
- Wire cutters
Covering the Wreath Form
My initial plan was to paint the form white before wrapping it but my craft time is limited with the littles so my quicker solution: crepe paper. I always have crepe paper on hand to decorate the kids doors for holidays and this made transforming a green form to white really easy and super quick.
So the first step to making this wreath is to wrap the form with crepe paper. I just used scotch tape to hold it in place.
Next, wrap the form with the mesh. I used tape to start the mesh but did twist it at the end and glue it down for a stronger hold.
Adding the Flowers to the Wreath
Adding the flowers is fun and easy but also super difficult for me to explain as I just place and glue the greenery and florals where I think they look nice.
A couple of tips that I found helpful in wreath making though. Before placing and gluing the flowers I used wire cutters to trim just the buds off the stems and cut apart anything else I wanted separate. I started with the lilies as I wanted them to be the focal point. I glued them with the glue gun where I wanted them. Then I just added flowers and a little greenery one at a time adhering them to the form or one another with the glue gun until I was satisfied with how it looked.
Hanging the Wreath
I just took a piece of ribbon and folded it in half and then wrapped it around the wreath. Then I took the ends and put them through the loop in the ribbon. Finally, I tied the top in a knot. DONE!
