Little Bunny Foo Flower – From Dollar Tree Items

Share

Little Bunny Foo Flower – From Dollar Tree Items was so fun to make.  I don’t know why but I keep calling it Little Bunny Foo Flower so I am going to go with it.  Who knows the song? It is one I remember from childhood. I suppose we could also just call it, Flower Bunny, Ceramic Tissue Paper Bunny, or as my seven year old suggested, Flower!  Name suggestions welcome. No matter what you call the little creature,  it’s cute!

I ended up with a garden themed Easter this year and a flower bunny just fit.  He was inspired by Crafted by Corie who used a larger foam bunny from the Dollar Tree.   The store here didn’t have them but I found this little guy in the kids craft section.

I just love seeing his little cheery self.

OK, let’s create!

Supplies

  • Kids craft bunny from Dollar Tree
  • Tissue paper from the Dollar Tree
  • Jute Carrots from the Dollar Tree
  • Decorative jar lid from Dollar Tree
  • Container filler – I used Spanish Moss from the Dollar Tree
  • Container of choice
  • Mod Podge (Glossy)
  • Paintbrush
  • Scissors
  • Protective covering for your work space

As you can see I got nearly everything from the Dollar Tree keeping costs low.  If you can’t find Mod Podge at the Dollar store you can get it at nearly any craft store or on Amazon (make sure to get glossy for this project to get that shine):

Steps to make Little Bunny Foo Flower

Bunny

This little bunny had a hanger on the top so the first thing I did was cut off the string and bend the ring back and forth until it came off.

Remove hanger

I started by cutting a small strip of tissue paper.   Then I applied a layer of mod podge on the bunny with a paint brush and pressed the tissue paper on.  Next I applied some mod Podge over the top to smooth down the edges.  I found it easiest to just apply with my fingers when smoothing down the edges.  Since I was working with such a small surface I cut out sections of the tissue paper design for the rest.  Once the bunny was covered I did a nice thick coat of the mod podge over the top with the brush.

All Dry

Carrot Jar

He is so small and cute but he got lost on my mantle (especially since I still haven’t grey washed it) So I made it a perch full of its carrot stash of course.  I was going to craft it a pedestal stand but I seriously need to get some home projects going so I did up something quicker. I grabbed a mason jar and filled it with a little moss and these carrots I had picked up at the Dollar Tree.  Then I added the decorative lid and put the bunny on top. Simple.

Completed Little Bunny Foo Flower

Naturally he sits next to my Carrot Patch Bunny Decor on the mantel.

Your turn to create

I would love to hear if you gain inspiration from this post and make your very own Little Bunny Foo Flower!
