Are you short for space or like to change up your decorations often? This Dollar Tree Seasonal House Frame can easily be swapped out with the seasons and holidays. The insides you create can all be layered and kept behind for easy storage. I intend to change up the little wreaths as well and will either fasten them on the back or put them with other stored decorations.
My motivation for creating this frame as well as the Dollar Tree Fill-in Arrangement was to accompany a decor piece I had intended for the hearth. My toddler had different ideas so the Fall Sweet Fall Sign ended up on the end table this year.
You can view a short YouTube Slideshow that quickly shows the process here on my Lovensthelife Channel.
Ok…..Let’s Create!

Instructions
The Frame
First I dismantled the frame to paint it. This frame has a protective coating on it so making it look aged was actually a breeze. Between that and the chippy brush this was a super easy paint job. I did two light coats of the light brown with the chippy brush. Then I added some black to the same brown to darken it and did a light coat of that as well. I wanted the frame to match the Fall Sweet Fall Sign but you could do this frame in any color. It would look great in a distressed white as well. If you are not wanting the original coated wood to show through I would sand the frame first. This will help the paint go on in an even layer.
The Inside
While the frame dried I took a razer knife and cut the saying off the Dollar Tree sign. I really liked the saying on this decoration which is why I picked it up. You could easily print something or if you are an artist paint or draw something for the frame as well. It really is only limited to your imagination what you put in this frame.
Next I cut a piece of scrapbooking paper the shape of the frame mat.
I then cut a little orange and brown scrapbook paper to accent the saying. You could use stickers or other accents as well. Next it was all arranged and glued to the house shaped paper I had cut out.
I placed the white mat house that came with the frame over this and placed it back inside the frame. You could do a full design and leave out the mat if you prefer.
The Little Wreath
I took some berry garland and wrapped it twice and tied it with a piece of twine. Then I just hung it over the top.
The No Commitment Part
When Fall is over this year I can very easily create something for Halloween, Christmas and other holidays to put in the frame. This is a super easy way to make one inexpensive frame work for all seasons and holidays. It would be fun to change up the tiny wreath for each switch as well.
Done.
