Dollar Tree Toilet Paper Pumpkins

Share

In our home, the bathroom got the fall love first this year. 2020 was the year of the toilet paper shortage so it’s only fitting that in 2021 the toilet paper is wrapped pretty and cherished on top of the toilet tank. These Dollar Tree Toilet Paper Pumpkins are simple, inexpensive, festive, and they smell pretty.

Autumn is my absolute favorite season and I really could enjoy the colors all year and not tire of it. Yet still I haven’t dug out the  decorations yet this year.  It’s hard for me to decorate in the midst of a mess and the house could use some serious love with half done projects all about plus the busy of summer and getting back into the swing of things for school. When I tidy up and clean adding a pleasant smell at the end is like the cherry on top. I knew I wanted to add a scent to this project so I was pretty excited to find fall potpourri at the Dollar Tree.

I have seen several versions of these Dollar Tree Toilet Paper Pumpkins but when I couldn’t find any material or the other supplies I had seen used I improvised. This is my version of the Dollar Tree Toilet Paper Pumpkin.

You can view a short YouTube Slideshow that quickly shows the process here on my Lovensthelife Channel.)

Ok…..Let’s Create!

Supplies List

Supplies used
  • Fall Dish Towel from the Dollar Tree
  • Potpourri from the Dollar Tree
  • Fall foliage from the Dollar Tree
  • Toilet paper roll
  • Wine cork or tree branch

Instructions

First lay out your dish towel.

Then set your toilet paper in the center.

Next I placed potpourri down inside the toilet paper roll. I put about four pieces in each but you could do more or less.

Fill toilet paper topped towel with a couple pieces of potpourri

After adding as much potpourri as you would like begin wrapping the toilet paper with the towel. I started with a short side and then bunched the long side over itself about three times and then tucked it down in the hole. Then repeated it on the other side. Since the towel just covers the two edges you will have to maneuver the longer sides to cover that shortage. Then stuff it down inside the roll the best you can.

Since the towels are thicker than a piece of material you might need a tool to stuff it down in enough to add the stem and foliage. I used a pair of scissors.

Finally add a couple of leaves and your stem. I used a wine cork on one and a branch from the yard on the other.

Done

My bathrooms got a splash of fall color, they smell nice, and it only cost a few dollars. Which one do you like more?

The spare toilet paper rolls got a makeover
